Matthew Teague has made a number of chairs based on this design, and it has turned out to be one of his favorites. Chairmaking intimidates many woodworkers because of the angled joinery that's typical of most chair designs, but Teague simplifies construction by using all solid wood (no laminating or bending) and loose tenons to connect the parts. Full-size templates make it easy to lay out the joinery.

- Excellent clear plans, tips and directions Review by Jonathan

Rating I built my first one of these chairs a couple of years ago, using the plans, written directions and videos. I have now completed eight. I had had virtually no fine woodworking experience but had attended a two week beginners course at the Centre for Fine Woodworking in New Zealand, and a short introductory router course.
Despite the "advanced woodworker" label I encourage anyone to give them a try, these chairs have an elegant simplicity that is much admired. The directions are clear and if you use the videos and have the basic equipment you will get there, and be proud of the results!(Posted on 6/29/12)
